If you are an 8th (or 9th) grader, you are invited to join this year’s confirmation class. Class will meet on Sunday evenings from 6-7pm, and be taught by Pastor John and other adult mentors. Our first class will be held on Sunday, January 22 at the church. For the first class only, parents / guardians should plan to attend. Confirmation Sunday will be celebrated in May 2023.

Pastor’s Bible Study

In the new year Pastor John will be starting two new groups that will read through the Gospel of Mark. These are designed to complement our worship series, Beloved Son, which begins January 8th. No prior Bible reading experience is needed, and you won’t even need to bring a Bible – all materials are pro-vided.

The first group will meet on Sunday mornings following worship at 11:15am – 12:15 pm. It will convene in the large conference room upstairs at church. The second group will meet on Mondays from 2:15 – 3:15 pm. It will gather at The Pointe at Sunrise Retirement Community (5501 Gordon Dr. East) in the 3rd floor Conference room. This is intended primarily for those living there, but others are welcome too.

Beloved Son: Meeting Jesus in Mark’s Gospel
From Jesus’ Baptism to Resurrection, the Gospel of Mark tells a story about God’s Son, who teaches, heals, casts out evil, feeds, and confronts the powerful – all to reveal something he calls The Kingdom of God. From January 8 (Baptism of the Lord) through April 9 (Easter) we’ll be reading a series of stories from Mark in worship. We’ll be learning what it means for him to be called God’s Beloved Son, and what it means for us to live as he did – loved by God so we can serve the world around us in Jesus’ name.

Sunday Women's Bible Study
beginning January
Twelve Women of the Bible
Sundays at 8:45 AM in the small Conference Room B rm 2003
January 8th - April 2nd

In this twelve-session small group Bible study, Twelve Women of the Bible, Lysa TerKuerst, Elisa Morgan, Jeanne Stevens and other leaders look at the spiritual lessons learned from twelve biblical women and what they mean for your life today.
You'll discover lessons from each of these women that will help you persevere through the circumstances you are facing today.
You will learn how to:
  • Apply biblical lessons to their own modern-day struggles
  • Live through their failures as well as successes
  • Draw near God in a world filled with trials
  • Find lasting contentment
  • Overcome rejection and insecurity
Each Student will receive a study guide that will feature discussion questions, background information on each character, space to write down thoughts, and much more.
Workbooks are available in the church office for $10.00. Please complete week 1 of the workbook before the first class on January 8th. We welcome our Bible Study leader Amanda Koop for contact information at 907-371-8374 for additional questions.
